chicago concert photography
I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to combine my two passions of music and photography by doing concert photography for a local Chicago bands. I strive to capture more of the energy and feeling of the moment rather than simply snapping pictures of them performing. For me, music and Chicago concert photography is more of a passion than anything else and I’m thankful for all of the bands, singers and performers for the opportunity to photograph their art & listen to their music.

Chicago Music Scene
Whether I’m behind the camera or in front of the stage, the Chicago music scene has always been one of the warmest and inviting collection of human brings I have ever had a chance to surround myself with. Being the third most populous city in the United States, it is the best places to experience a plethora of musical genres from a wide variety of artists and concerts. From the intimate venues like Subterrenean, Schubas, the Beat Kitchen to the beautiful interiors of Thalia Hall, Aragon Ballroom and the Riviera Theatre, to grand stages of Northerly Island, the United Center, Riot Fest and Lollapalooza, small or large, if you want to here it, somewhere they are playing it.

Music and Art
Music has always played an important role in my life. It was the building block, the foundation that I first built my creative world on. I remember as a kid, being woken up in a daze and stumbling to the sounds of my father playing guitar. The simple guitar licks meeting with the soul of the human voice, becoming one. It was beautiful. Music is a powerful form of art. You can be instantly lost in the sounds, transported to a moment that you once lived, or comforted by the poetry of the words on your adventure through the world. It’s free. It’s inspiring. It’s emotional. Music shapes your life.
